Term 2 week 2 reflection

Reflecting back on week 2, it was an interesting week. We all learnt how to play lacrosse, lacrosse is a game that originated from a native american game using an elongated stick with a net and a ball. Lacrosse in french means 'the stick'. The game of lacrosse is a non contact sport where you must throw the ball to one another using the net on top of the pole to score a goal. We also started our first reading task that includes a character description and a summary.

We finished editing our descriptive writing to get rid of vague words, to be words and sentence fragments. We all wrote about a place that we went to. the time was basically a snapshot in time. now we are onto report writing about an animal of our choice out of a giraffe, meerkat, giant panda, hectors dolphin, bottlenose dolphin and chimpanzees.

Term 2 week 1

Term 2 week 1 was a good start. We had a powhiri to welcome two new teachers. Some shared a mihi and others supported with waiata. The whole school started on finding a science fair question to research to create a hypothesis an educated guess and test the hypothesis. The whole school got a chance to see mike king explain depression and told us his journey through antixety and how to avoid it. I learnt how to figure out the missing angle in a polygon and how to get rid of weak verbs such as good, look, said etc.
